Production: Welcome

By the end of the summer, we had our third prototype. We are planning to spend the autumn playtesting with other young climate activists to continue developing the game.

Character cards. The front of each card introduces a character’s dissatisfaction with the current system and hints at what they could offer the social movement.

Players must meet in secret at the community buildings to join forces and gain influence tokens. Some characters get extra strengths for meeting. For example, Stuart, an old unionist and Janet, a solicitor can trigger worker strikes. While Jay, a young person with a passion for photography and Abeela, a journalist, can trigger a media scandal.

Community cards. The cards  represent the ruins of community buildings from the past and are picked up every time a player goes past a community building. They can give players extra help like a lift to to somewhere else in the board or free medical care.

Police cards. These are picked up by a player every time they go past a police car in the city. The police are tougher on players travelling in groups and some police are tougher than others. This means players could be able to pass by the police, get arrested, have items confiscated or even lose health.
